Material

MAGNETO-RHEOLOGICAL ELASTOMER

Magneto-Rheological Elastomer(MRE), a mixture of magnetic particles and elastic substances (e.g. natural or synthetic rubber), is one of the smart materials controlled by an external magnetic field generated from the induced current. It is soft and flexible when there is no magnetic field applied, but it dramatically changes its structure and brings stiffness as magnetic field is applied. The level of stiffness varies depending on the types of magnetic particles and elastic substances.

BeatTouch™ is an innovative haptic solution based on Magneto-Rheological Elastomer(MRE). It is a patented technology which controls the activity of MRE in various structures by the magnetic field generated from the induced current, thus creates brand new tactile sensations.
